The DSC Technical High School (DSC THS) opened for classes 38years ago, to be precise 1983 and has over the years stood the test of time, having produced very promising Nigerians who are all doing very well in their various fields.
Upon graduation of the pioneer 89’, 90’ and 91’set from our Alma Mater, they decided to establish the university campus branch of THSOSA, with two most flourishing campus branches in Edo State University now Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma and University of Benin. Meetings were not regular at the campuses but the Warri meetings were always held during the 2nd semester holidays. One activity which was always held in Warri then is the Annual Dinner which afforded members the opportunity to see themselves.
Following the graduation of the first three sets from the University, some old student still resided in Warri and occasionally met for meetings. THSOSA Warri however was officially given birth to in the year 2000 when we lost Mrs. Agatha Oboro nee Djebah, a member of the pioneer 89’ set, to the cold hands of death. It was at the funeral that old students took the decision to officially start the DSC Technical High School Old Students Association, THSOSA.
THSOSA Warri as at then was the only chapter and also doubled as the National body coordinating the affairs of the Association. Meetings were held at Plot 4, Kodesoh Street, off Sokoh Estate road Effurun, to be precise the residence of Mr. Akpobo Akpokiniovo who was then the coordinator. A constitutional drafting committee was later set up in one of the meetings alongside an election committee. At the meeting held 31st December 2000, at same venue a draft constitution was presented and adopted following the motion moved by Mr. Obukowho Okpako for it adoption and seconded by Mr. Blessing Ewidjakpor.
The election committee also presented their report and nominations were subsequently called for the different position, with the following members elected;
Chojare Igho-Najevwe – President
Eloho Egwuterai – Secretary
Ahmed Momoh – Financial Secretary
Enemute Okene – Treasurer
Clement Adiotomre – PRO
Vwoke Akpubi – Member 1

A roll call of 43 members were in attendance as follows, Fidoro Ovase Edwards, Uriemi Ogigirigi, Ejoke Akpubi, Onoriode Omoefe, Eberemu Adrian Oshioname, Onoge Ekugbe Ena, Ajuyah Omajuwa, Omo-Udoyo Okiemute, James Osondu, Austin Ohwo, Amioku Imoni, Anwuli Agbonifo, Emmanuel Zubby Agbonifo, Emmanuel Okugbaye, Ejiro Okumagba, Clifford T. A very BIG THANK YOU to all these oldies for their efforts towards putting in place the very first executive for THSOSA Warri.
THSOSA Warri hit the ground running, constantly holding her monthly meetings, although attendance to subsequent meetings drastically reduced as most members left Warri in pursuit of their careers. Various approaches, from zones to cell with coordinators were adopted to get new members into the Association. It worthy to note here that the game changer was the transformation of our annual dinner into an Annual General Meeting (AGM), as this gave publicity to our great Association THSOSA, and membership grew with every year’s AGM.
THSOSA was registered with the existing laws of Delta State as an Association using the adopted constitution, to enable the Association function as a body and operate a bank account. In the existence of THSOSA Warri the THSOSA constitutions has been review twice to meet the growing needs and nationalistic outlook of the Association.
THSOSA Warri evolved into a big national association following the growth in membership across the Country, particularly triggered by the continuous celebration of our Annual General Meetings (AGM) and other activities in our Alma Mater like the Prize Giving Day, inter-house sports and milestone THS anniversaries, which saw the birth of Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja Chapters. THSOSA Warri had to cede playing the double role Chapter/National, considering the growth in membership, emerging of other chapters and also to reposition the Association Nationally. A caretaker committee was constituted at the Warri AGM in 2016 to pilot the affairs of the Association and mandated to organize general elections in 2017 at the Abuja AGM.
THSOSA Warri has had two Presidents since inception who were Chapter/National Presidents; Engr. Chojare Najevwe and Engr. Clement Adiotomre, while Arch. Emeke Onyenokwe was elected as Chapter President after THSOSA Warri ceded the National Executive. The current Chapter President Roli Ukuetsite who took over the administration of the Warri Chapter in June 2019,is serving a second tenure in that capacity.Other executives in the current executivebody of the Chapter and thier respective offices are;
1)Aburime Itaman(Vice-president)

Over the years THSOSA Warri has always been in close contact with our Alma Mater, responding to her needs whenever the Association was called upon. THSOSA Warri officially holds her monthly meetings at Eliko Hotels Ekpan excepted otherwise stated by the host for that month . The current membership strength stands at over a hundred members already registered in the on-going Chapers database registration and 158 members in its whassap as recorded on her WhatsApp platform.
